Mayor's Office

Bob moved to Waterloo in 1983 and was elected to the Waterloo City Council in 1984 as an Alderman from Ward 1.  During his time as an Alderman, he served on many committees including Public Safety and Finance (as the Chair).  Bob also served as the citizen representative for the Plan Commssion, was a Volunteer on the Waterloo Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services as well as on the Board of Trustees.  Bob was elected Mayor in 2007 and is currently serving his third term in that capacity.

In 2003, Bob retired from the Wisconsin State Patrol after 22 years serving as a Motor Vehicle Inspector and State Trooper.  Bob also was an instructor at the Wisconsin State Patrol Academy in traffic radar and VASCAR speed computer operations.  He's a licensed pilot and was able to use that license with the State Patrol flying the air support unit for 16 years.

Since retirement, he enjoys cooking, golf, and spending time with his grandchildren.  He's been married to his wife Karen for 34 years and together they enjoy couple's bowling.
